JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Product Education Specialist (AiPES) focused on educating and coaching advanced project Teams regarding the technology infrastructure of AI for Good projects.  The AiPES will interact with team members, project stakeholders, and sponsors, and be an integral part of the Nittany Ai Alliance staff.

AiPES meets regularly with project teams, ensuring design decisions are considered with a strategic lens towards technology portability using a strong working knowledge of AI technology infrastructure and industry best practices.  Direct support to all technical team leaders and positive mentoring are expected.  The AiES is also expected to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously through proper identification, resource assessment, delegation (where appropriate), proactive communication, and deadline management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, design, develop, and deliver appropriate technology onboarding learning pathways for various AI Infrastructure
  • Develop advanced program educational programs and materials related to project technology design and delivery with consultation of key stakeholder groups such as Nittany Ai Alliance, Penn State IT, Faculty, and industry experts.
  • Research and maintain a working knowledge of AI innovations in support of raising awareness across advanced teams of potential innovative approaches and project pivot points.
  • Educate and mentor program team members in foundational infrastructure decision points and potential pathways to deliver flexible, robust proofs of concepts.
  • Educate and encourage team members regarding Advance Program best practices such as proper documentation, GitHub project management, code development, branching, and deployment
  • Manage Advance Program Infrastructure Administration related to cloud and on-premises development spaces including personnel onboarding, account administration, usage monitoring, and hardware provisioning
  • Assist Advanced team members in the approach and configuration of AI-related technology.
  • Assist the Advance Program Manager in future project proposals including readiness evaluations and scoping
  • Monitor Advance Teams performance, coach/mentor members, and escalate issues as needed
  • Evaluate and continuously improve advanced program AI technology educational programming
  • Plan and manage budgets for educational programming and technology services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with academic, industry, and Nittany Ai stakeholders
  • Other duties related to the Nittany Ai Alliance initiatives

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability to function in a small team environment and work with part-time student interns
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technology and business communities.
  • Experience working on agile development projects and managing duties across multiple projects.
  • Highly desirable traits include leadership, disciplined, self-organized, team-focused, accountable, and adaptable.
