In connection to increasing distress over verbal abuse episodes, DoorDash has launched a groundbreaking solution in the market. SafeChat+ examines more than 1,400 messages per minute. It works around various languages, including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin. AI technology recognizes offensive and harassing language. It guarantees a safe and respectful setting for both customers and Dashers.

How It Works:

  • Recognition: SafeChat+ examines in-app discussions identifying any unsuitable content.
  • Options for Dashers: If a Dasher meets verbal abuse, they can cancel the order without affecting their ratings. DoorDash will issue a warning to users who use unsuitable language.
  • Customer Support: Customers can report occurrences directly through the app, stimulating DoorDash’s support team to take suitable action.

“We know that verbal abuse or harassment represents the largest type of safety incident on our platform,” DoorDash stated. “Introducing this feature could meaningfully reduce the overall number of incidents even further.”

DoorDash stresses that 99.99% of deliveries occur without safety-related issues.

Along with SafeChat+, the application also deals with Dasher Assist. It connects delivery drivers with ADT agents who can provide emergency aid when needed.
