Elon Musk Expands AI Chatbot Grok to All Premium Subscribers on X
Elon Musk is the idealistic tycoon and owner of X, which was formerly known as Twitter. He made an important announcement that could change the setting of social media communication. Musk has confirmed that the AI chatbot Grok will be available to all Premium subscribers on X this week. This planned move is seen as a response to the company’s struggle to retain users and compete with other popular chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude.
Grok was formerly a feature exclusive to Premium+ subscribers. It is now being expanded to all Premium subscribers. This expansion is a tactical move aimed at preventing X users from migrating to other platforms. Grok stands out from its competitors with its unique ability to access real-time X data. It is a feature that competitors cannot offer. Still, the value of this data might be fading as X is reportedly losing users.
This statement comes at a critical time for X. The platform has seen a decrease in usage in the U.S., with a reported 18% year-over-year drop as of February. It has dropped 23% since Musk’s acquisition. The company has also seen a drop in revenue prospects, with 75 out of the top 100 U.S. advertisers on X, and since October 2022, they have no longer spent their ad budget on the platform.
The expansion of Grok to all Premium subscribers is seen as a daring move by Musk to maintain users and compete with rivals. It remains to be seen how this will influence the user base and the overall performance of X in the competitive social media market. As the AI chatbot landscape continues to change, Grok’s development could potentially be a game-changer for X and its users.
