The creation of CEO James Smith, Human Native AI was inspired by Smith’s experience working on Google’s DeepMind project. Launched in April, Human Native AI is currently in beta. Despite its early stage, the company has already signed several partnerships and recently announced a £2.8 million seed round led by LocalGlobe and Mercuri.
Smith’s vision for Human Native AI stems from his belief that we are in the “Napster-era of generative AI”¹. He sees a need for a marketplace where content can be easily developed, and creators have some level of control and compensation. This vision resounded with Jack Galilee who is an engineer at GRAIL. He encouraged Smith to pursue the idea.
The company’s early success and the high demand from both AI companies and publishers suggest that Human Native AI is filling a central gap in the AI industry. By providing a platform where AI companies can access large amounts of data for training and rights holders can exercise control over their content, Human Native AI is ready to revolutionize the AI training landscape.
