Human Native AI Training Licensing Marketplace: Modernizing AI Training

Human Native AI is a London-based startup. It is making influence in the AI industry with its advanced marketplace for AI training licensing deals. The platform serves as a bridge between companies building large language models (LLMs) and data rights holders.

The company’s exclusive approach allows rights holders to upload their content at no cost and connect with AI companies to discuss revenue share or subscription deals. Human Native AI also provides support to rights holders in preparing and pricing their content, and watchfully observes for any copyright violations.

The creation of CEO James Smith, Human Native AI was inspired by Smith’s experience working on Google’s DeepMind project. He observed a common problem among AI companies that is the lack of quality data to train their systems. Smith envisages a future where content attainment is simplified, and creators have more control and receive fair compensation.

Launched in April, Human Native AI is currently in beta. Despite its early stage, the company has already signed several partnerships and recently announced a £2.8 million seed round led by LocalGlobe and Mercuri.

Smith’s vision for Human Native AI stems from his belief that we are in the “Napster-era of generative AI”¹. He sees a need for a marketplace where content can be easily developed, and creators have some level of control and compensation. This vision resounded with Jack Galilee who is an engineer at GRAIL. He encouraged Smith to pursue the idea.

The company’s early success and the high demand from both AI companies and publishers suggest that Human Native AI is filling a central gap in the AI industry. By providing a platform where AI companies can access large amounts of data for training and rights holders can exercise control over their content, Human Native AI is ready to revolutionize the AI training landscape.
