Meta AI Features WhatsApp Business: Meta Reveals AI-Driven Features for WhatsApp Business
Meta is the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. It has announced the introduction of AI-powered features to its WhatsApp Business apps. This declaration was made by Mark Zuckerberg. He is the CEO of Meta. The announcement was made at the Meta Conversations conference held in Brazil.
The new features are designed to support businesses in creating click-to-WhatsApp ads and generating responses to frequent customer inquiries. This is a part of Zuckerberg’s vision to build not just a single AI assistant, but a multitude of AI agents that can serve different purposes. These AI agents are anticipated to assist businesses in their conversations with customers.
The new AI tools will enable WhatsApp Business users to create Facebook and Instagram ads that can initiate a WhatsApp chat with a business. This feature is expected to modernize the process of customer engagement and make it more efficient.
Meta is currently testing AI-powered customer support, which will automatically answer customer queries related to catalog or frequently asked questions. This feature is being tested with select merchants in India and Singapore, with plans for development to Brazil.
The company plans to clearly signify AI-generated messages, so customers know they are not interacting with a company representative. This is an important step in maintaining transparency and trust with the customers.
Meta’s business partners for WhatsApp API, such as RelianceJio’s Inerakt, Tiger Global and Fidelity-backed Gupshup, and Peak XV and Shopify-backed Wati already offer some of these tools through their WhatsApp-based CRM solutions. But Meta is offering their tools for free, targeting merchants who might not want to invest in supplementary tools.
This move by Meta is expected to transform the way businesses cooperate with their customers, making the process more efficient and customer friendly.
